Parental lock: keep sensitive categories protected with a PIN
When one device is shared across a household, not every category should be one tap away for every family member. Parental lock adds a PIN gate in front of the categories you choose, so access stays under your control.
How to set up parental lock
- 1
Open Settings and find the Parental Lock section.
- 2
Set a PIN that only you know.
- 3
Choose which categories or sections require the PIN to open.
- 4
From then on, anyone opening a protected category is asked for the PIN first.
Why it matters
- Share one phone or tablet across the whole family with sensitive content still protected.
- You choose exactly which categories are locked — nothing is restricted by default.
- The PIN lives only on your device; it is never sent anywhere.
- Quick to set up once, and it keeps working every time the app is used.
A simple PIN goes a long way toward making one shared device feel safe for everyone.
